SECURITY UPGRADES

What you may not know is that most UPVC doors are only fitted with low security products. Meaning that if you don't add any additional security into your household you're at huge risk of being broken into. There are a multitude of products on the market that will help to better secure your home allowing you to sleep peacefully at night knowing that your house is safe. See below to learn more about the different methods for better securing your home.

3 Star Door Cylinders: Standard door cylinders (the part that you put your key in) are very unsecured and in fact are the reason most break-ins occur. However there are higher quality door cylinders on the market that offer much more substantial security to stop burglars gaining unwanted access into your property. They do this by implementing security features into their products including; anti snap, anti pick, anti bump and anti drill features. These deter burglars by denying the methods they would usually use to bypass your standard door cylinders.

Sash Jammers: Sash Jammers are an extra bit of security fitted inside onto both doors and windows. For inward openers they are fitted onto the frame and latch over
the sash of either the door or window and the opposite for outward openers, fitting onto the sash and latching over the frame. This means that if the lock were to be bypassed, it acts as a barricade stopping the door or window from being opened. They are a cheap easy security method that adds that little extra peace of mind when sleeping at night. As they can only be operated from the inside, they cannot be tampered with by burglars trying to get in. However this also means that on doors they cannot be used when exiting the property due to only being operational from
inside. So they are effective all round on windows, but you should opt for something more versatile for your doors, although it won't hurt to cover all bases.

I recently used Mullock's Locks for several minor repairs to my double glazing and doors (adjustment of doors, replacement of a broken window catch and replacement of three bent window hinges).

Repairs were all completed to my satisfaction on the date specified for the works.
